Portfolio Plans

A portfolio plan is an easy way to automatically bid on listings that match your specific criteria. For example, if you want to bid on listings under $5,000 with Prosper Ratings of AA and A and an estimated loss rate of less than 2%, you can set up a portfolio plan that will bid on only listings that match your criteria. You can place any amount of your funds in as many portfolio plans as you like.

To make it even easier for you, Prosper has created three portfolio plan models—Balanced, Moderate and Aggressive—to help you get started. Each model plan represents a different level of risk based on historical performance of Prosper borrowers. You can view the criteria for each of the plans.

If you decide to build your own, each portfolio plan can contain up to ten sets of listing criteria (which we call "slices"). You can create each slice to have its own criteria, including Prosper Rating, amount to bid, and any of the myriad other criteria you want to include.

Portfolio plans can save you time by finding the loans you are most interested in, and allowing you to set up a standard bid amount per loan so you can be assured your money is being invested in the loans you want at the amount you set. This can also help you diversify your risk by spreading smaller loan amounts across many borrowers.
