How can I do an advanced listing search?

Just go to "Bid on Loans > Advanced Search". You will be required to sign in before you can conduct an advanced search.

What do all of the search criteria mean?

Credit grades and minimum rates

You can constrain your search to specific credit grades and listings with current lender interest rates at or above rates you specify. If a credit grade is checked, the search results page will include listings from borrowers with that credit grade. If it is unchecked, those borrowers will be excluded from results. The number below each credit grade allows you to filter your search further to only include listings in which the lender rate is at or above the interest rate specified in the text box. Learn more about credit grades.

Listing basics

  • Loan category: Constrain your search by the borrower's intended loan purpose (e.g., Debt consolidation, Business loan, etc.)
  • Debt to income ratio: Constrain your search to borrowers with specific debt to income (DTI) ratios. A debt to income ratio at or below 20% is considered "normal", and a debt to income ratio above 20% is considered "very high", especially when excluding housing debt (as Prosper does).
  • Loan amount: Constrain your search results to listings in which borrowers are requesting specific amounts.
  • % Funded: Constrain your search results to listings which have a specific range of the percent of the listing which is funded.
  • Automatic funding: Borrowers who have chosen automatic funding listings, in which the listing will close as soon as the requested amount is funded
  • Homeowners: Borrowers who have mortgage debt on their credit report or have provided proof of homeownership to Prosper
  • Listings I've bid on: Listings in which you have bid (successfully or not) in the past
  • Watched listings: Listings currently in your watch list
  • Borrowers I have a loan with: Listings by borrowers who you have an active loan with

Credit data

  • Now delinquent: The number of accounts on which the borrower is currently late on a payment. This includes any unpaid charge-offs or other derogatory balances.
  • Amount delinquent: Total past due amounts owed by the borrower. This includes accounts included in Chapter 13 bankruptcies, but excludes all other bankruptcies. Charge-offs or other unpaid derogatory balances are included provided the credit grantor has reported an amount past due to the credit bureau. Please note that not all credit grantors will report an amount past due with a charge-off or derogatory status.
  • Delinquencies in last 7y: The number of 90+ days past due delinquencies on the borrower's credit report in the last 7 years.
  • Public records in last 10y: The number of negative public records on the borrower's credit report over the last 10 years. Negative public records include, among other things, bankruptcies, liens, and judgments.
  • Public records in last 12m: The number of negative public records on the borrower's credit report over the last 12 months. Negative public records include, among other things, bankruptcies, liens, and judgments.
  • Inquiries in last 6 months: The number of inquiries made by creditors to the borrower's credit report in the last six months.
  • First credit line: The month and year the borrower's first recorded credit line was opened. Credit lines may include, among other things, revolving, installment, and mortgage credit.
  • Current credit lines: The number of credit lines presently current that have been reported within the last 6 months. These lines can be open or closed.
  • Open credit lines: The number of credit lines presently open that have been reported within the last 6 months.
  • Total credit lines: The total number of credit lines appearing on the credit report. Credit lines can be open or closed and may include, among other things, revolving, installment, and mortgage credit.
  • Revolving credit balance: Sum of outstanding balance on all open revolving credit lines reported within the last 6 months.
  • Bankcard utilization: Overall balance/limit ratio on open bankcards reported within the last 6 months. Calculation: (sum of total balances) / (sum of total limits)

Prosper activity

  • Active loans: The number of loans which have been issued to the borrower and are still active and being billed.
  • Total loans: The number of loans which have been issued to the borrower by Prosper lenders. This includes loans which are active and paid off.
  • Principal borrowed: The total amount of principal borrowed on Prosper, including loans which have been paid off.
  • Current loan balance: The borrower's outstanding principal balance on Prosper loans.
  • On time payments billed: Total number of Prosper loan payments billed (come due) and paid on or before the due date. If the borrower has made additional payments in advance, they will not appear in this figure.
  • <1 mo. late payments billed: Total number of loan payments which brought a loan current which were made at most one month past the due date. If more than 15 days late, these loan payments may include a late fee to lenders, depending on the borrower's state of residence.
  • 1+ mo. late payments billed: Total number of loan payments which brought a loan current which were made more than one month past the due date. Payments which are one or more months late may incur a collection fee, which is paid by lenders.
  • Total payments billed: Total number of loan payments which have been billed (come due) on the borrower's Prosper loans.
  • Credit grade change: Whether the borrower's Prosper credit grade has gone up, down, or not changed since his or her last Prosper loan.

Social criteria

  • Bids from friends ($): The total dollar amount of highest single bids from unique friends of the borrower. For example, if a borrower's friend bids twice, for $100 and $50, this field will only count the $100 bid towards the listing's "Bids from friends ($)" total.
  • Bids from friends (#): The total number of bids from unique friends of the borrower. For example, if a borrower's friend bids twice, this field will only count one bid towards the listing's "Bids from friends (#)" total.
  • Endorsements: The number of endorsements that the borrower's listing received from verified friends, as of the end of the listing.
  • Friends: The number of verified friends that the borrower has as of the end of the listing.

Employment data

  • Employment status: The borrower's employment status. Options include: full-time, part-time, self-employed, retired, and not employed.
  • Length of status: The number of months and years that the borrower has had the stated employment status. If employed or self-employed, since when has the borrower held their current job or owned their current business? If retired or not employed, since when have they had this status?
  • Occupation: The borrower's current occupation.
  • Annual income range: The borrower's current income range, in $25,000 increments, or over $100,000. A borrower may also decline to state their income range, in which case "Not displayed" will be shown.

Group criteria

  • Group membership: You can constrain the search results to only return borrowers who are members of a Prosper group.
  • Group star rating: Constrain the search results to only return borrowers who are members of a Prosper group with a specific star rating, and/or groups that are not yet rated. Learn more about group star ratings
  • Group total payments billed: Total payments billed is an indication of the number of loan payments which have been billed to members of this group. Because group ratings are assigned to groups with as few as 15 total payments billed, this number is an indicator of the group's maturity in loan payments billed.
  • Specific groups: Constrain your search results to listings from a specific group or groups. To add a group on which to constrain your search, click "Add a group". A pop-up window will allow you to select the specific groups on which you would like to place your bids.

Sorting criteria

You can choose the primary, secondary, and tertiary sort dimensions for your search. For example, if you wanted to see your search sorted by credit grade and then time left, you would choose "Credit grade, ascending", and "Time left, ascending".
