Verify your Bank Account |
« Back to help topics |
What does it mean to verify a bank account? Before you can transfer money to or from your bank account, you must first verify ownership of that bank account. After you add your bank account, in order for us to verify that you are the rightful owner/user of your bank account, you are required to verify the account. There are two types of bank account verification:
Deposit and withdrawal verification: Prosper makes a small deposit and withdrawal to the bank account you specify. You enter the exact amounts of those transfers on Prosper, and if the amounts match, your account is verified. Deposit verification takes 1-2 business days. How do I verify my new bank account? To verify your new bank account, go to "My Account > Accounts" and click "Verify" next to the account you would like to verify. Why can't I verify my account? If you're a borrower with a listing that is not at least 5% funded, you will not be able to verify your account. As soon as your listing attracts enough bids to be 5% funded, you will be able to verify your bank account. |
