What is my profile?When you initially registered with Prosper, we asked you for some basic information, such as your name, email, password, and screen name. This is referred to as your "profile." If any of your personal or contact information changes, you don't need to register again—you can just update and edit your profile. How do I make changes to my profile?Just go to "My Account > Profile" and choose the items you want to make changes to. Why do I have to sign in again?If you choose to edit a piece of information that is considered to be "highly sensitive," like your email address, password, or screen name, you will be asked to sign in again to prove your identity. This protects you from a situation where you might be accessing Prosper from a public computer and you walk away from your session without signing out. By requiring a second sign-in, it prevents thieves from changing the email address or password on your account. Why can't I change my name or Social Security number?If you have already gone through the process of having your identity checked with Prosper (for the purpose of becoming a borrower or lender), you will not be able to update your name or Social Security number on the web site. We take your privacy and security very seriously, and this restriction exists to enforce the identity of all members on the marketplace.
