Verify Your Address

How do I update my address?

If you need to change your address on file, just go to "My Account > Profile" and click "Edit contact information". When you save the changes to your address, Prosper will send a postcard with a verification code to your new address. You should receive the postcard within 3-5 business days.

Once you have received the postcard, just follow the instructions on the card to verify your address.

What does it mean to verify your address?

For security reasons, all borrowers must have a verified mailing address. That means we can send postal mail to your mailing address on file and you will receive it.

To verify your address, Prosper sends you a small postcard with a verification code. This is not an email, it is a paper postcard sent through the U.S. Postal Service to the address you entered when you registered. These postcards help Prosper reduce the risk of identity theft.

How do I verify my address?

When you receive your postcard in the mail, go to "My Account > Profile" and click "Verify this address". You will be prompted to enter the verification code printed on the postcard you received. Once you've successfully entered the verification code, you may tear up your postcard and throw it out.

I received multiple postcards, what should I do?

You may receive a postcard for each address you entered, or if you updated your address more than once. This is normal. You should enter each security code to ensure that all of your addresses are verified.
