This is a group comprised of public school teachers for all grade levels and subjects. The group is also open to students in college trying to become teachers. We will do our best to help each other by keeping a high reputation and a 75% share to help get lower rates.
Hi, my name is Jeremy. I have
taught high school Algebra in Mississippi public schools for two
years, and plan on doing so for many more. I have been lucky
enough to have a school district that spreads my salary over 12
monthly paychecks. If they did not do that for me, my bank
account would probably be getting pretty dry come August.
I understand not all districts do this for their faculty. It must be very difficult to get through those months where you have no paycheck coming.
Still having debt from college, I am
hoping to get a loan to pay some of it off at a much lower rate.
My credit card interest skyrocketed on me one summer. During
the transition that comes with moving, somehow a bill got misplaced,
or lost. My punishment for missing one month's payment on one
card and a late payment on another was $74 dollars in late fees and
an interest hike from 14.9% to 29.9%. Within three months, my other two credit cards caught wind of what happened and raised their interest rates to over 30%. It put a massive strain
on an already limited budget that I have yet to recover from.
Hopefully Prosper.com can help us to get loans for getting through
those summer months without a paycheck, paying off higher interest
loans and credit cards, paying for tuition and books, repairing your car, remodeling the kitchen,
or any of the many other valid reasons. As a group, I hope that we can get a good reputation that will lower the rates on loans for us all.
Hoping this is the solution to some of your problems,
Jeremy
